The editing toolkit that does the busywork.
Silence cuts, animated captions, 194 editable MOGRTs, speed ramps, camera shakes, stabilizer, offline AI cutouts and more, inside Premiere Pro, After Effects and DaVinci Resolve. It runs on your own computer.
One-click tools
The tools motion editors reach for a hundred times a day, built into one panel and working the same way in every host.
Speed & value graphs
Ease in, ease out, speedramp and your own bezier, on keyframes or as real speed ramps.
Camera shake
Vertical, horizontal, HV, scale or all axes, on the playhead, cuts or beats, with a live preview, flash and RGB split.
Quick mask
Offline AI cutout of the region you draw. Nothing is uploaded and you get an alpha clip back.
Beat markers
Detects the tempo and drops markers on every beat or bar, then clears them in one click.
Stabilizer & zoom
One-click stabilization, and eased zoom in or out with the direction and curve you choose.
Anchor, align, layers
A 9-point anchor, align and distribute, null/adjustment/solid layers, a project sorter, frame export and FX presets.
An assistant for the whole edit
Kerf reads your timeline, builds a new edit and hands it back as a sequence, clips or markers. Your original edit is never touched.
Silences & bad takes
Loudness, the Silero speech model or both together, with J/L cuts and a review before anything is cut.
Captions + 194 MOGRTs
Ten animations, a live safe-zone preview, and After Effects-built templates where every control stays editable.
Transcripts that learn
Whisper large-v3-turbo with automatic language detection, 21 mixed-language profiles and a vocabulary that learns from your fixes.
Prompt editing
"Tighten pacing, bold captions, vertical Short." Claude, OpenAI, Gemini or a local model plans it and Kerf runs it.
Audio
Voice cleanup, music that ducks itself under speech, a sound-effect pack on cuts, beat edits, and translate & dub.
Repurpose
Viral-moment scoring, face-tracked 9:16 reframing, chapters, multicam podcasts, yt-dlp downloads, and 4K60 or alpha renders.

Questions
Does my footage leave my computer?
No. Cutting, captions, cutouts and renders all run locally. Only the AI providers you switch on (with your own key) receive text such as transcripts.
Will it change my edit?
Kerf builds a new sequence or timeline, or adds clips and markers you can undo. Your original edit and media are never modified.
Why does macOS or Windows warn me on first launch?
The builds aren't code-signed yet. On macOS right-click the app and choose Open; on Windows choose More info, then Run anyway.
Is a GPU required?
No. With an NVIDIA GPU, transcription uses large-v3-turbo on CUDA; otherwise Kerf picks a fast CPU model automatically.
